Today, we had our second session focusing on memories from the war years. We read through books, listened to music and read poetry. The highlight of the afternoon was listening one of our residents giving a presentation about his personal experience of serving in the army in Malaya in 1948. He shared some incredible stories and showed us a collection of items that he bought back with him. What a fascinating afternoon!

Today, we enjoyed our first session using a resource box from our local library. The box contained a wealth of artefacts and publications from the war years. These prompted much discussion and allowed us to share childhood memories of growing up during the war. We also heard first hand accounts of what it was like to be in the armed forces.
